Amid the debate over the underpayment of Indian domestic helps all across, USD Consortium successfully organized its second PLACEMENT MELA on 11th August, 2016 after getting the huge positive response from Domestic workers on "KAUSHAL AND ROZGAR MELA" held on 8th July,2016 in Mandawali, East Delhi. |

USD Consortium strongly feels & recommend that for the welfare of domestic workers and making them a strong contributors in Indian economy, the Domestic workers -whether working full-time or part-time, should be included in the appropriate existing labor legislations so that they would also have the right to fair terms of employment relating to payment of minimum wages, access to social security, protection from abuses, harassment and violence. |

| We feel that In spite of the complexity of nature of job of Domestic Workers, Minimum wages should be decided for them in monetary terms; automatic deductions for very small unimportant reasons must be avoided by employers & In-kind payments should be specified in advance and are not be confused with incentives and bonus; and placement agencies should not be allowed to receive wages on behalf of domestic employees and neither should they be allowed to deduct their commission at source.
